Reigning Sabalenka Claims Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Accolades.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive season.

The 27-year-old won four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – which included retaining the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles title.

A Season of High Performance

Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka played in a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the entire year as the world number one, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

In July, she became the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Historic Statistics

Sabalenka concluded the season with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and collected a record eleven million pounds in tournament winnings.

She received nearly 80% of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.

Later this month, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "help bring women's tennis to a new level".

• Comeback Player of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, twenty-eight, received the award after taking a extended hiatus after the birth of her daughter and making her comeback to the sport earlier this season.
• Rookie of the Year: Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko was honored with the award after beginning the season ranked beyond the world's top 300 and climbing to the eighteenth spot.
• Partnership of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were voted after capturing their second Grand Slam title together.
• Biggest Leap of the Year: Amanda Anisimova received the accolade after reaching five finals.

Recently, Carlos Alcaraz secured three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, including the season-ending top rank award, while Jannik Sinner was voted the fan favorite for a third time.
