Barça Ready for First Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

Barcelona have announced they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside under the licence granted. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.

Recent Activities

The club conducted a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium in early November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side on 9 December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
